Hey!

The purpose of this article is to teach you the step-by-step process to configure Onsight in Day.io and, later, how to perform this management on a day-to-day basis.

The On-call function is normally used to accompany extra-day services such as shifts, and two features are essential in this mode:

On-call = period available for a shift. For example: from 18:00 to 23:30.

Trigger = active working period during on-call. For example: a call or issue resolution from 18:35 to 19:00.

Let's learn how to deploy and use this function! Access the Day.io web environment with an Administrator permission account and follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Indicate the permission

The first step is to decide which profiles within the company will open notice requests.

To activate this, go to

a. Employees > Employees Center

b. Click on Admin

c. Activate the Manage Bypass and Request, and View Bypass switches to enable the functions.

d. Repeat the process for Supervisor and Basic permissions, taking into account the information below:

• Manage Bypass - enables automatic authorization approvals and additions (recommended for people with Supervisor and Administrator permissions).

• Request and View Warnings - allows the user to view and request a warning or trigger. This request will be pending until a Supervisor/Administrator permission approves (Recommended for Basic permission).

Step 2 - Configure the Rules Group

It will be necessary to inform our software how these hours will be compensated when the Trigger takes place, so that the information is reflected in the reports.

To do so, you need to access Settings > Business Rules Group > Create a new Group* and in the Overtime tab include if you don't want to pay or compensate for Overtime.

*If you already have a Rules Group created, you will need to create a new group with the same information. If you need help with this process, contact our Support team via chat.

Step 3 - Manage Overwhelms!

After configuring the offsets and enabling the role in the Employees Center, this new menu will appear under Activities.

Management can be performed by both the Administrator and the Supervisor (if previously configured in Step 1, above). To learn how to manage over-warnings in an innovative way, access this article and share it with your leaders!
